AAAE Meets in Kona, Hawaii for Western Conference

By: Patricia Ward This year the  American Association for Agriculture Education Western Conference was held in Kona, Hawaii. The Agricultural Leadership, Education and Communications Department were represented by faculty and students. Associate Professor Lori Moore, Ph.D., was elected to an eight-year term of service as an officer of the Western Region of AAAE. She begins her service as Secretary. ALEC Lecturer Attends Poynter Institute

By: Meagan Brown Teachers are constantly learning how to effectively educate students. Agricultural Leadership, Education and Communications Senior Lecturer Deborah Dunsford, Ph.D., exhibited this when she traveled to St. Petersburg, Fla. to attend two journalism classes at the Poynter Institute for Media Studies from June 19-25, 2014. Dunsford had to apply to be accepted into the courses at the institute. After being accepted, she received a Neuhaus-Shepardson Faculty Development Grant to help cover travel and tuition costs. Spotlight: Student Embodies Leadership

Yashwant Prakash Vyas, a leadership studies minor, has taken his role as a leader in stride.
