ALEC Graduate Student Chosen as FLF Participant

Each year the Association for International Agriculture and Rural Development chooses 12 students from across the United States to participate in their Future Leaders Forum. This program allows students to be put in contact with industry leaders in international development in agriculture. ALEC Faculty Attend AAAE Conference

Several ALEC faculty members attended the American Association for Agricultural Education’s 2015 national conference in San Antonio, Texas. ALEC Department Head, Jack Elliot, Ph.D., received the Outstanding Agricultural Educator Award for his exceptional career as an educator. Rutherford Honored with Regional USDA Teaching Award

By: Meagan Johnson Tracy Rutherford, Ph.D., has been presented with the United States Department of Agriculture Regional Teaching Excellence Award. This award is given to recognize educators who go above and beyond in instruction, dedication to students, and the advancement of academia. After receiving her bachelor’s degree in animal science from Cornell University, Rutherford earned her master’s in speech communication and her doctorate in agricultural education, both from Texas A&M University. ALEC Hosts Agricultural Education Conference

Held in conjunction with the Southern Association of Agricultural Scientists annual meeting, the SR-AAAE conference is an opportunity for faculty and staff in agricultural education across the country to connect and share ideas.
